Shared Perspective Consulting

At Shared Perspective Consulting, I am committed to ensuring that my website is accessible to people with disabilities. I am continuously working to enhance the accessibility and usability of my website to provide a seamless experience for all individuals.
Accessibility Statement
I believe the experiences we create should be welcoming, respectful, and usable by as many people as possible.
As a service and experience designer, I work with Indigenous and community-serving organizations to design digital experiences, services, and systems that respond to the people and communities they serve. Accessibility is an important part of that work, not something to consider only at the end of a project.
This statement outlines my approach to accessibility, what I am working toward, and how you can reach me if you experience a barrier while using this website or working with me.
What is Web Accessibility?
Web accessibility means designing websites and digital experiences so that people with different abilities, needs, technologies, and ways of interacting can access and use them.
Accessibility can include considerations for people who are blind or have low vision, people who are Deaf or hard of hearing, people with mobility or dexterity disabilities, people with cognitive or learning disabilities, and people who experience temporary or situational barriers.
For me, accessibility is also connected to how we understand people, context, culture, and community. Good design starts by listening and recognizing that people experience systems and services differently.
My Accessibility Commitment
I am committed to continually improving the accessibility of my website and the digital experiences I design.
My approach includes:
-
Considering accessibility from the beginning of a project, rather than treating it as a final checklist.
-
Designing with different ways of accessing, navigating, understanding, and interacting with information in mind.
-
Using clear language, meaningful structure, readable content, appropriate colour contrast, descriptive links, and accessible interaction patterns.
-
Considering keyboard navigation and assistive technologies as part of digital design.
-
Working collaboratively with clients and communities to understand barriers and lived experiences that may not be visible through technical accessibility checks alone.
-
Recognizing that accessibility is an ongoing practice. I continue to learn, listen, test, and improve my approach.
When I work on digital products, services, or experiences, I aim to support accessibility alongside broader considerations such as cultural context, community needs, trust, safety, inclusion, and ease of use.
